Tiger Airways to launch Davao-Singapore flights on Nov. 1
A low-cost airline based in Singapore will launch its maiden flight between Davao and Singapore on November 1.
Delza Apostol Gochoco, president of Triplestar Travel and Tours, said Tiger Airways has appointed TripleStar as general sales agent for the Philippines for its customers who will avail of their three times a week flight schedule.
Gochoco said direct flights from Davao to Singapore will increase tourism in Davao by making it easily accessible internationally.
“That is Singapore to Davao and Davao to Singapore. We will do three flights initially and hopefully, we will do like what we did for Cebu, a daily flight. Tiger Airways is really a low cost airline. No frills and no fast,” she said.
Tiger Airways currently operates a daily flight between Singapore and Clark, which is a short bus ride away from Manila. By operating out of a lower cost airport, this route has enabled travelers to take advantage of Tiger’s low, low fares since April 2005.
In Davao City, Tiger Airways is located at Door 16 Legaspi Suites along A. Pelayo Street.

Tiger Airways to offer Cebu-Singapore daily flights soon
Tiger Airways, a new player in the low-cost carriers sector in the country, will soon be offering daily flights out of Cebu to Singapore, an official said.
Tiger Airways will be flying daily to and from Singapore next month, senior manager of the airline’s corporate communications office Sharon Cheong announced.
Cheong, who recently visited Cebu, believes their cheap fares will benefit both Cebu and Singapore’s tourism industries.
The Singapore-based airline was established in 2004 and currently has a fleet of 26 Airbus A320-family aircraft. Its operations span 30 destinations in 12 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
The airline began offering flights out of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport to Singapore since Tuesday.
Cheong said what sets them apart from other carriers is that they don’t want passengers to pay for things they don’t want like extra baggage and other add-ons. Read more…

Tiger Airways offers 45 cents plus taxes promotion
Tiger Airways offers Singapore’s 45th National Day promotion by slashing its fares to as low as 45 cents plus taxes.
The 45-cent fares are for 6 destinations in Malaysia and Thailand – Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, Penang, Hat Yai, Phuket and Krabi. Other international routes are on sale too, from different promotional rates such as Sin$4.50 plus taxes.
Travel periods are from as early as August, to as late as November, varying according to destination. Booking open until 4 August 2010.
“Singapore is where we started 6 years ago. Since then, we have grown to become the largest low-cost carrier here. We achieved that with our low, low fares, which also helped build bridges between Singapore and her neighbours in Asia Pacific,” said Rosalynn Tay, Managing Director of Tiger Airways Singapore. “This promotion is our way of thanking Singapore for the support we have been receiving. Singapore is important to us as a base, and we plan to continue grow here. We believe offering cheap fares is what people want, instead of asking them to jump up and down. So from the Tiger to the Lion City, here’s to many more years of nation building and low, low fares!”

Tiger Airways offers 48-hour promotion with 200,000 discounted seats up for grabs
Tiger Airways has launched a 48-hour promotion with 200,000 discounted seats up for grabs. The promotion started at 00:01 on Tuesday, 22 June 2010, and ends at midnight on Wednesday, 23 June 2010.
The “Small Prices, Big Pleasures” promotion covers 16 destinations in China, India and Southeast Asia. Under the promotion fares from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur are only $19 including taxes, while all Thai destinations are just $40 including taxes.
As a bonus, bookings at these promotional fares are also eligible for Tiger Airways’ current lucky draw for a car and free flights.
Travel periods for this promotion differ according to the destination.
“This crazy promotion is our way of giving back to passengers during the Great Singapore Sale, and helping retailers get back on their feet after last week’s flooding of Orchard Road,” said Rosalynn Tay, Managing Director of Tiger Airways Singapore. “Our promotions are crazy but genuine. When we say 200,000 seats, we mean 200,000 seats, unlike other airlines who may exaggerate the number of seats on promotion. Tiger Airways can keep offering low, low fares, by saving on unnecessary costs such as flying long-haul and sponsoring premium sports events.”
