Qatar Airways has launched a promotion to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its frequent flyer programme, Privilege Club.

Members can earn 10,000 bonus Qmiles in addition to the normal Qmiles, when flying 10 sectors within 10 weeks from 1 May until 10 July 2010.

Between 1 – 31 May 2010, Privilege Club members can also earn double Qpoints on Qatar Airways’ flights enabling them to achieve a higher status much quicker within the programme.

As part of the celebrations honouring members’ loyalty, Privilege Club card holders can enjoy the benefits of upgrading to Business Class for just half – 50% less – Qmiles than normal by booking selected Economy Class tickets during the month of May.

Those members looking to fly on 2 May 2010 – Privilege Club’s 10th birthday – can redeem Economy Class award tickets for just 10% of the normal Qmiles required.

Qatar Airways, which has developed its global business significantly over the past 10 years, currently operates to 88 destinations with a modern fleet of 82 aircraft around the world with another four new routes scheduled for launch by the end of June.

Starting October 1, 2009, Emirates will start its flights to Durban with the goal of bringing passengers from around its growing network to the province of Kwa Zulu Natal.

To celebrate the airline’s 17th route into Africa, Emirates is offering Business Class passengers two complimentary night’s accommodation in a standard room at Durban’s Southern Elangeni Hotel.

Air Tahiti Nui and ecruising.travel are offering now two discounted Australia flights and cruise packages for passengers that will depart from Tahiti until November 2009.

United Airlines’ Mileage Plus members can now earn extra bonus miles when flying to and from the United States.

United Mileage Plus members booking before 15 December 2009 and traveling by 31 December 2009 will be rewarded with extra bonus miles and quicker access to special offers.

Mileage Plus members can earn an additional 1,000 bonus miles through online booking at the company’s website. In addition, passengers who have not purchased a ticket through the United website since 14 August 2008 can now earn an additional 500 bonus miles simply by booking flights through one of United’s worldwide websites now through 31 October 2009.

Bonus miles earned will be accredited to members’ Mileage Plus accounts six to eight weeks after completing the qualifying travel. Other terms and conditions apply.

US Airways just launched their most recent promotion for their loyal customers.

Apart from the double “elite qualifying mile promotions, the airline now offers elite status to its frequent fliers that has accumulated 7,500 miles.

US Airways is an Arizona based airline earlier announced massive reductions in earnings tiers, now lowered the requirement for passengers to reach elite status.

By having an Elite status, a passenger can skip those long check-in lines and instead go to the priority line only offered to privileged members, and best of all you’ll be one of the first to board the plane after the first-class passengers have been called.
