Cathay Pacific has launched a competition through its official Facebook page that offers one lucky winner the chance to travel the world on the Cathay Pacific network.

All it takes to get started in the “Travel the World in 80 Days with Cathay Pacific” competition is to click “Like” on the airline’s fan page on Facebook. Those who wish to enter should then submit a short video, photo or story through the Facebook page explaining how they would spend 80 days travelling around the world.

Entries can be submitted until 6 March 2011 and all the materials submitted will be displayed on the Facebook page. The competition is open to people aged 18 (Japan residents must be 20+) and over who are resident in one of the following countries/territories: Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the United States. Terms and conditions apply.

After viewing all the entries, the airline will shortlist a total of eight entrants and invite them to Hong Kong – covering their airfares and accommodation – for a final panel interview and a one-day challenge from 12 to 14 April. The challenge will involve the finalists touring Hong Kong for a day and using their initiative and creativity to post Twitter “tweets” and upload photos that capture the essence of the city’s attractions. Cathay Pacific launches Hong Kong Sevens Video Competition

Cathay Pacific is again Co-Title Sponsor and Official Airline of the Cathay Pacific / Credit Suisse Hong Kong Sevens 2010, and is getting the fun underway by offering rugby fans the chance to win tickets for the 2011 event.

This year’s Sevens takes place from 26 to 28 March at Hong Kong Stadium and will be the usual heady mix of great sporting action and non-stop fun. To get everyone in the mood, Cathay Pacific is inviting people to submit their Sevens-themed videos, the best of which will be shown at this year’s event. The winner – to be decided by the biggest cheer from the crowd – will receive the grand prize of four tickets to the 2011 Hong Kong Sevens and four Economy Class tickets. Fans can enter the competition through cathaypacific.com/hksevens.

Cathay Pacific General Manager Marketing James Ginns said, “Cathay Pacific is committed to helping stage great events in Hong Kong, and they don’t come more popular – or more entertaining – than the Hong Kong Sevens. Our aim is always to make the Sevens a more enjoyable experience for everyone, and this year we’re making good use of our social network channels to build up the excitement and anticipation among fans around the world.”

If timeshare relief is on your mind then it sounds like you have outgrown the use of your timeshare. Traveling without being tied down to a timeshare resort is always a plus because it allows you much more freedom. Be careful if you are also considering a way to sell a timeshare because there are many companies out there that pretend like they can sell your timeshare.
