Airline ticket prices increase 15 days before the flight date

Earlier the airline ticket prices would increase a week before the journey date, however in the last few months, the ticket prices are increasing drastically 15 days before the journey, forcing the traveller to book the tickets well in advance.
For example the cost of goa-mumbai ticket will be around Rs 2000 15 days before the journey date, however 13 days before the journey date, the airline ticket price will increase drastically to Rs 3500 or more
So anyone who wishes to travel by air is forced to either pay a large amount for last minute booking or book their tickets well in advance which can be extremely risky, especially for small business owners who have to pay their own expenses.

No difference in airfares offseason and peak season

During July, January, usually fewer indians are travelling because of the monsoon and cold weather and till last year, the airticket prices were far lower in July and January. However in 2017, due to cartelization and other problems, air ticket prices from Goa to Mumbai are almost the same in July and April 2017 costing more than Rs 4000 if booked a few days earlier.
Hotels in goa are claiming they have few bookings in July 2017, yet the airlines are preferring to increase the fare, rather than attract more customers. They do not realize that customers may not be interested in paying more for a ticket and may switch to other modes of transport
