AirAsia Celebrates Kuala Lumpur – Mumbai Launch with Promotion

AirAsia X has launched 4 direct flights per week between the Low Cost Carrier Terminal in Kuala Lumpur and Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.

To celebrate the launch, AirAsia is offering an promotional fares from RM 0.08 for travelers from Mumbai – Kuala Lumpur. An Airbus A330 aircraft is being deployed on the new route.

Mrs. Sujata Thakur, Regional Director, India Tourism, Mumbai said, “On behalf of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India we welcome Air Asia, a low cost airline for starting operations to Mumbai. I am sure with its arrival to Mumbai we will see increased tourist inflow from Malaysia and other ASEAN Countries to Mumbai and its adjoining regions. With Air Asia’s operations from Mumbai the Indian passengers will also benefit. As it will lead to increase travel opportunities not only for Malaysia but other ASEAN Countries as well.”

Travellers flying on this new route will have the chance to experience the new ‘flatbed Premium seats’ on the brand new A330 aircraft. The flatbed seats offer 20” width, 60” pitch and stretch out to 77” in full recline position. The seats feature universal power sockets, adjustable headrests and built-in personal utilities such as tray table, drink holder, reading light and privacy screen.

Mumbai, which was previously known as Bombay is a major metropolitan city of India and the state capital of Maharashtra. The edifices and the colonial structures that adorn Mumbai speak of the grand and glorious history of the city. The Gateway of India, the Elephanta Caves, Prince of Wales Museum, Marine Drive, Haji Ali’s Tomb, Victoria Terminus, and Film City are amongst the must visit places of Mumbai.

Jointly, the AirAsia Group has a total of 148 flights weekly to the various points in India which include Tiruchirappalli, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kochin, Trivandrum, Bangalore, Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai (to Kuala Lumpur and Penang).

AirAsia now offers Chennai to Penang Flights

AirAsia now offers flights between Chennai in India and Penang in Malaysia.

In 2009, we had approximately 470,000 international tourists visiting Penang, but only 7,000 are from India. That only makes up 1.5% of total international tourist arrivals into Penang.”

Earlier this year, AirAsia launched flights to Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi from their Kuala Lumpur hub, while Chennai is connected from both Kuala Lumpur and Penang. The Kuala Lumpur – Chennai route will begin operations on 17 May 2010.

The Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad sectors are serviced by AirAsia’s A320 aircrafts, while Mumbai and Delhi are served by its long-haul affiliate, AirAsia X via its new Airbus A330 fleet.

AirAsia Deals : Stranded Traveller Promotion

AirAsia offers a special promotional fare for just RM99 to any ASEAN destinations (excluding taxes and fees), for all stranded travellers who are holding flight tickets to Europe (on any airline). The promotion starts today, 20 April 2010 and runs until 25 April 2010, for travel between 20 April and 23 May 2010.

This promotion is eligible for travellers who are traveling to Europe but are stranded in Malaysia and Singapore due to the current closure of air space in Europe. Passengers only need to show their flight tickets at any AirAsia Sales Office or AirAsia Sales Counter to enjoy this promotion to any ASEAN destinations (except Myanmar) departing from Malaysia and Singapore.

With only RM99 one way, guests can book any flight departing from 20 April to 23rd May 2010 to any ASEAN countries including popular destinations such as Bali, Jakarta, Bangkok, Singapore, Siam Reap, Hanoi, Phuket, Krabi and many more.

AirAsia to launch Kota Kinabalu – Hong Kong; Promotional Fares from HK$ 299

AirAsia is to launch direct daily flights between Kota Kinabalu in East Malaysia and Hong Kong on 1 June 2010.

To celebrate the new route, AirAsia is offering all-in-fares for Kota Kinabalu to Hong Kong from as low as RM139 (HK$299) one way. Booking is available from today until 18 April 2010, for travel between 1 June 2010 and 13 February 2011.

AirAsia launched its first route connecting Hong Kong from Kuala Lumpur in 2008 with only one flight per day. Due to the overwhelming demand from travellers to and from Hong Kong, the airline increased its frequency on this route to three flights daily within the span of two years.

Following its successful launch, AirAsia continued to boost its international connectivity to Hong Kong by launching more new destinations from its hubs regionally which include Bangkok (two flights daily), Phuket (one flight daily), Penang (four flights weekly) and the latest addition – Kota Kinabalu (one flight daily). AirAsia X offers discounted Flights to Australia; Fares from RM 199

AirAsia X is to increase its flights to Australia by flying twice daily from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne and Kuala Lumpur – Perth effective 1st July 2010. Currently, AirAsia is servicing the routes with one daily direct flight and with these new additions AirAsia will service the routes with 14 weekly flights.

AirAsia is also increasing its frequency between Bali and Perth effective 1st June 2010 from two to three direct daily flights.

To celebrate these additional frequencies, AirAsia is offering an all-in fare of RM249 for Kuala Lumpur – Melbourne and RM199 for Kuala Lumpur – Perth. This offer is available for booking from today, 13 April, to 18 April 2010 for travel between Kuala Lumpur-Melbourne from 1 August 2010 to 12 February 2011 and from Kuala Lumpur – Perth from 1 July – 30 October 2010.

AirAsia Launches discounted ticket promo from Kota Kinabalu To Hong Kong

AirAsia offers Penang – Langkawi Promotion 2010

AirAsia is to launch a new daily flight between Penang and Langkawi from 13 May 2010. To celebrate, AirAsia is offering a fare from just RM9 plus airport tax. The 4 days promotion starts today, 8 April 2010, and ends on 11 April 2010. The travel period is from 13 May 2010 to 13 February 2011.

To make the deal sweeter, airasiago.com is offering hotel rooms from RM100 per night from 3-5 star participating hotels to choose from. These include Eagle Bay Hotel, Hotel Grand Continental Langkawi, Bayview Hotel Langkawi and Rebak Island Resort Langkawi – A Taj Hotel.

AirAsia’s big ticket promotion offers good deals for local and foreign destinations

AirAsia is offering one-way tickets from as low as RM9 across its extensive network in conjunction with its ‘Big Sale’ promotion.

The sale runs for one week from March 3 to March 7 for the travel period from Sept 25, 2010 to Feb 13, 2011 via its website www.airasia.com or mobile.airasia.com, the airline said in a statement today.

Travellers, it said can get the low-fare bargains from as low as RM9 one-way to Johor Baharu, Kota Baharu, Langkawi, Penang and Kuala Terengganu.

For international routes, it is offering as low as RM29 for one-way travel, with Australian routes such as Gold Coast, Melbourne and Perth available from RM149.

In addition, other bargains include RM131 for travel to Hong Kong and RM699 to London.

The airline is also concurrently running “March Mardness” campaign online within the same booking period of March 3 to March 7 for guests to enjoy immediate travel between March 23 and May 31.

AirAsia Launches 20% off fares to all destinations

AirAsia is offering a 20% off fares to all destinations for a limited four days only. The promotion is starts today, 18 February 2010 and runs until 21 February 2010 for travel between 23 March and 31 May 2010.

AirAsia to offer Promo Fares for Taipei – Kota Kinabalu Flights

AirAsia is to launch direct daily flights to Taipei from Kota Kinabalu in East Malaysia. The new route is now open for sale with direct flights daily commencing on 15th January 2010.
