No discounts for booking made just before flight departure

Earlier, if there were empty seats in a flight, the airline would reduce the ticket prices so that passengers would book the ticket and at least 1 airline would reduce the ticket prices 24-48 hours before travel .
However now in June – July 2017, either all the flights are full, or the airlines have decided that they would only carry passengers willing to pay the highest fare for the ticket if they are booking the ticket 24-48 hours before the journey.
All the airlines have joined together to implement the policy, so that travellers do not have any option to get cheap tickets if the ticket is booked 24-72 hours before the journey.

High air fares for goa to mumbai in July 2017

Compared to 2016, the air fares for the trip from goa to mumbai are far higher than the prices in July 2017. Last year the prices were less than Rs 3000, in 2017, the prices are more than Rs 3000 for almost all airlines even on weekdays like Tuesday and wednesday which the broke domain investor cannot afford, unlike wealthy greedy indian government employees who get credit and a salary despite not spending any money and not doing any work online

Only tickets booked 14 days previous to the departure date are reasonably priced, costing Rs 1600- 1900

If anyone is aware of coupon codes to reduce the airfares, please revert.

Seasonal airline promotions

Usually the airlines in India will offer promotions during the offpeak seasons. With indian intelligence and security agencies ruthless in harassing, persecuting and torturing unmarried people in India, most middle class and wealthy people are married and have children.

So unless their children are grown up, most married indians are taking holidays during the summer and winter vacation for their children, so that the children do not have to miss school. Single indians can take their holiday any time of the year.

Hence airline ticket prices are usually higher during the vacations for schools in April, May, June, during the winter holidays around Diwali, Christmas, during October November, December. During the offpeak season prices are usually lower, and there are many promotions.

Origin and destination airport

The airline promotions also depend on the destination and origin of the flight. Weekly ticket demand varies depending on whether the place is a metro city, or a tourist destination.

For example, many people will fly between Delhi and Mumbai during the weekdays because many important government offices are located in Delhi, increasing the ticket rates. However for holiday spots like goa , most people will visit mainly only on a weekend or holiday, as they do not wish to take leave from their office, as most organizations allow a limited number of holidays for their employees.

So the ticket prices are higher for flights to goa on Friday and from Goa on Sunday, Monday. On other weekdays, airlines are offering promotions and discounted fares as few are travelling to goa

Factors affecting airline pricing

Like hotel rooms, airline tickets are a perishable commodity, and unless the airline cancels the flight, there is no major difference in the expenses incurred by the airlines whether there is one passenger flying or 180 passengers are on the flight to a particular destination .

The same amount of fuel will be used by the airline, and fees have to be paid at the airport, salaries to staff, and other expenses. So airlines will always try to maximize the number of passengers in a flight depending on the capacity of the airplane to increase the profit.

During the peak season, there is no shortage of passengers on a particular route, however during the off peak season or off peak hours, airlines will try to maximize the number of passengers, offering low ticket prices to the passenger

Airline ticket booking systems

Unlike other transport and travel sectors, airlines have highly computerized and automated systems, allowing them to vary the ticket prices according to the demand and supply of the ticket to maximize their profit.

Till recently the train, bus ticket prices for a particular route remained the same through out the year, as the same distance was being covered by the vehicle. However airlines try to take advantage of the increased demand for tickets to a particular place during specific periods by increasing the ticket prices to a very great extent.

Similarly when there are few visitors or travellers on a particular route, they may reduce the airline ticket prices, launching airline ticket promotions

Demonetization and airlines

The demonetization in India in November 2017 also allowed the airlines to offer a promo to increase their ticket sales, as they were allowed to accept the demonetized Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes.

Due to identity theft and impersonation frauds of the all powerful, extremely corrupt CBI, NTRO, indian intelligence and security agencies, harmless vulnerable indian citizens were losing their faith in the banking and financial system controlled by brahmins and banias, preferring to keep their money in cash.

After demonetization many had a lot of cash at home, and instead of depositing in the bank to be harassed by the corrupt greedy intelligence and security agency officials, they decided to purchase air tickets.

Some airlines like Spicejet were advertising their promotion for airline tickets extensively on newspapers and television channels, openly stating that they were accepting the demonetized Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes in their advertisement.
