International travel medical insurance for a stress-free trip

International travel medical insurance can be used by short-term tourists, primarily on vacations and pleasure cruise trips. Besides covering medical expenditures for any short travel time, you’ll find covers on urgent medical evacuations and trip cancelling reimbursements.

Whenever you arrange using a travel agent for a tour having a fixed timetable, all the required bookings are validated. So the company constantly requires a non-refundable deposit. It is carried out weeks beforehand, and quite often a person might not be competent to carry out the tour or trip as a result of various reasons, like health factors. Together with medical expenses, this factor can also be included in travel insurance, and compensation from the insurance provider can be stated in the event of a cancellation.

Occasionally a travel business files for bankruptcy after obtaining a large amount as payments. The traveler is left with useless documents. This can be included under international medical travel insurance.

Basically modifying the schemes on a whim is not satisfactory. Many schemes may remove pre-existing situations; therefore it is necessary to take care when selecting an insurance policy. Travel cover is fairly affordable, and can provide financial reassurance in the case of a medical catastrophe.

Thai Airways cut ticket prices for southern destinations

Thai Airways, Thailand’s national flag carrier, has cut its one-way ticket prices from Bangkok to five southern destinations as flooding in the capital threatens the only highway from the capital to the South.

As a result, he said Thai Airways decided to cut ticket prices by 47-58 per cent from Bangkok to southern destinations, with special price ticket available from Nov 11-Dec 10.

The new price for one-way Bangkok-Surat Thani tickets dropped from Bt4,290 to Bt1,820; Krabi from Bt4,490 to Bt1,920; Phuket from Bt4,675 to Bt2,015, Hat Yai from Bt5,155 to Bt2,255; and Samui from Bt6,360 to Bt2,930, all excluding airport tax. Continue Reading

Tiger Airways to launch Davao-Singapore flights on Nov. 1

A low-cost airline based in Singapore will launch its maiden flight between Davao and Singapore on November 1.

Delza Apostol Gochoco, president of Triplestar Travel and Tours, said Tiger Airways has appointed TripleStar as general sales agent for the Philippines for its customers who will avail of their three times a week flight schedule.

Gochoco said direct flights from Davao to Singapore will increase tourism in Davao by making it easily accessible internationally.

“That is Singapore to Davao and Davao to Singapore. We will do three flights initially and hopefully, we will do like what we did for Cebu, a daily flight. Tiger Airways is really a low cost airline. No frills and no fast,” she said.

Tiger Airways currently operates a daily flight between Singapore and Clark, which is a short bus ride away from Manila. By operating out of a lower cost airport, this route has enabled travelers to take advantage of Tiger’s low, low fares since April 2005.

In Davao City, Tiger Airways is located at Door 16 Legaspi Suites along A. Pelayo Street.

Tiger Airways will be flying daily to and from Singapore next month, senior manager of the airline’s corporate communications office Sharon Cheong announced.

The Singapore-based airline was established in 2004 and currently has a fleet of 26 Airbus A320-family aircraft. Its operations span 30 destinations in 12 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

The airline began offering flights out of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport to Singapore since Tuesday.
